A developer in Hawaii accidentally built a house on it instead of the neighboring lot. To keep Earth from overheating too much, the nations of the world need to put fewer loopholes in climate agreements and far more money — trillions of dollars a year — into financial help for poor nations, the United Nations climate chief said Friday. In an unusual and blunt lecture at a university in Baku, Azerbaijan, the host city of upcoming international climate negotiations later this year, United Nations Climate Change Executive Secretary Simon Stiell called gains made in the past not nearly enough. Richer nations have promised less than 5% of that amount in climate financial help to poor nations — and they often haven't even delivered that much. “It's already blazingly obvious that finance is the make-or-break factor in the world's climate fight,” Stiell said. “The time has passed for business-as-usual in all aspects of the world's climate fight,” Stiell said.

If you’re ready to get the most out of your spare dollars, take these steps to open a new savings account. Compare savings account optionsIf you plan to open a savings account online, there are hundreds to choose from. Banks may also require you to deposit a certain amount to open or maintain a savings account with them. If you want to open a savings account that will be shared with another person, like a spouse or partner, you should opt for a joint account rather than a single account. Fund the accountIf your chosen bank or credit union requires a minimum deposit to open a new savings account, you’ll need to fund it with a check, cash, credit or debit card payment, or transfer from another checking or savings account.

"Part of what makes her human is that she makes mistakes, owns them, and apologizes when appropriate," he wrote in a post on X following Business Insider's report on Oxman's plagiarism. That's a starkly different approach from the one he took toward Gay after she stepped down as president earlier this week. At the time, Ackman said she should be fired from Harvard's faculty entirely because of what he called "serious plagiarism issues." However, the instances of Oxman's and Gay's plagiarism have more similarities than differences, according to experts and an internal analysis. “I wanted to burn my house down.”Any parent dealing with head lice can probably relate to this situation. Head lice have unfortunately become a part of raising children today, said Deborah Altschuler, president of the National Pediculosis Association. Lauren Salzberg (R), also known as Lice-Lady, treats a customer for head lice in her studio, a converted garage, in Potomac, Maryland, in November 2015. Head lice are most common among young children — 6 million to 12 million lice outbreaks occur yearly in children between 3 and 11 in the US — though adults are vulnerable to head lice as well. The best way to check if a child has lice is with a lice comb, Altschuler said.

Middle-income households are less likely to have access to resources like Medicaid and food stamps. The report, by Drexel's Autism Institute, looked at the intersection of poverty, race, and health outcomes for autistic youth. Children with autism from middle-income households, or households at 200% to 399% of the federal poverty line, actually had the worst health outcomes out of all income classes. The first, Dr. Anderson pointed out, was that middle-income households are less likely to be eligible for Medicaid. While some states offer waivers for kids with autism from middle-income households, it's far from a universal practice.
